The author of this site is someone who has Dysexecutive Syndrome.  This is a result of having an acquired traumatic brain injury following septicaemia, multiple organ failure and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation. It took five years to get a diagnosis, even though I knew within weeks from being discharged home from hospital that I had a different personality and multiple problems.  No amount of going to my GP led to any answers.  Through a long winded process I eventually got a diagnosis but too much time had passed between discharge and getting referrals for any rehabilitation to be fruitful.

The purpose of this site is to give patients and families the information they need to make links about changes that may have happened following a traumatic brain injury, so they can go armed with information to their medical team to get a proper diagnosis.

I'm not a clinician or an academic. I can't and won't make a diagnosis for you. I will, if you wish to get in touch, explain in more detail what it is like to live with Dysexecutive Syndrome, and the life changing impact it has on life, but I will always encourage you to be informed about the condition via recognised respected sources and seek help from your medical team in pursuit of your own diagnosis.  My hope is that you will find the support you need locally from your doctors, and that your family and friends will be more supportive, be forgiving, and understand that you are having a difficult life.
